Drawing
Disegnare significa respirare. Tutto quello che disegno genera altro disegno, altre narrazioni incomprensibili e sgraziate. Hanno, i disegni, l’ingenuità del saccente che credi di aver capito, di aver trovato la pietra filosofale ma in realtà la pelle del disegno è fragile e spesso illusoria. Deve essere immaginata, simbolicamente pensata, visivamente sentita.
Posso, per ora, definire l’espressione del disegno in due modi: solo disegno puro e disegno accompagnato da altre immagini, fotografie soprattutto. Le immagini “reali” rafforzano la spinta verso l’immaginazione, formano un contrasto (contrappunto) e avvicinano.
Drawing means breathing. Everything I draw generates other drawings, other incomprehensible and awkward narratives. Drawings possess the naïveté of the know-it-all who believes they have understood, who thinks they have found the philosopher’s stone, but in reality the skin of drawing is fragile and often illusory. It must be imagined, symbolically conceived, visually felt. For now, I can define the expression of drawing in two ways: pure drawing alone, and drawing accompanied by other images, especially photographs. “Real” images reinforce the drive toward imagination, create a contrast (contrappunto), and bring things closer.
